Precision Academy, located at 7318 W Lynwood in Phoenix, is in its
seventh year. It is a free high school program geared for students
interested in attending college. It is not geared for students
interested in “catching up” on credits.
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to take courses in the evenings
at the local community college for both high school and college credit.
Tuition reimbursement is available from Precision Academy.
The school focuses its curriculum on material that will prepare
students for college. Courses are aligned to the state standards.
Instruction is student-centered, teacher facilitated. Students do many
hands-on projects and teachers explain, guide, answer questions, and monitor.
The school prepares students on a daily basis for standardized tests.
Students are required to meet all state standards and are required to
attempt to exceed the state standards.
The majority of courses are year-long where credit is awarded at the
end of the school year based on successful course completion.
Students complete a graduation program of 25 credits with four
credits each in English, math, science, and social studies. In addition,
students take courses in technology, drama, musical instruments,
leadership, drama, ceramics, vocal, college prep, and/or second language.
School hours are from 8 to 2:30 or to 3:30 depending on the
individual student’s academic needs.
